Distance Travelled: 122 km, plus 28 km by train (with the canoe)
Duration: 7 days
Notes: Unseasonably warm for early September. Mosquitos and no-see-ums were still alive and well. Pictographs were incredible.
No big game (except two black bears on the drive home), but lots of birds: bald eagle, osprey, merlin, broad-winged hawk, barred owl, turkey vulture, blue heron, sandhill crane, blue jay, grey jay, blue-headed vireo, sandpiper (either common or spotted) nuthatch, spruce grouse, northern parula, black-capped chickadee, lesser scaup, common goldeneye, common merganser, mallard duck, kingfisher, whippoorwill, loons, ravens, crows, northern flicker, hairy woodpecker, herring gull.
